A new postulant, again...

The Holy Spirit is very good to us these days. We were delighted to welcome a new postulant, Mr. Will Mohan, of Rockville, MD. Please hold our two postulants, Will and Raphael in your prayers. We also received Rose Garwood, of Montclair, NJ, as our latest Associate this week.

This week, Br. Bernard has been coleading a Centering Prayer Intensive retreat. As a result, the guesthouse has been in round-the-clock silence.

On Monday, Bros. Ben, David Bryan and Robert Leo and postulant Raphael made an excursion to Kent School, in Kent, CT. The school, which has long been independent from OHC, was founded by the Order of the Holy Cross. Kent Chaplain Kate Kelderman took them on a grand tour of the school. Kate and her husband Theo are regular visitors at the monastery.

This weekend, Bros. Aidan, John and Randy paid a visit to a highly-rated local distillery in Stanfordville, NY. They liked what they tasted and vowed to go back in the future.

More monastery people. Bros. John and Randy at Taconic Distillery (three pictures); Kate Kelderman, Br. Robert Leo, postulant Raphael and Bros. David Bryan and Ben at Kent School; a stained glass window of OHC founder, Fr. James Otis Sargent Huntington in the chapel of Kent School; Br. Bernard with latest Associate Rose Garwood.

And the blooming report is irises galore!

Br. Bernard will be leaving on a two-week family leave this Tuesday (no Monastery Column for the next two weeks).
