Eastertide joys

This week, Bros. Robert James, Robert Leo, Josép and David Bryan visited NYC to represent OHC at a dinner honoring Archbishop Dr Thabo Makgoba, the Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, South Africa. Br. Bernard went on retreat to Mercy by the Sea in Madison, CT, on the Long Island Sound.

Br. Josép offers winter shelter to an abundance of geraniums in his office. This week, it was time for them to come out.

Formation team at manual work. From top left, clockwise: crab apple trees in bloom on the back driveway; Japanese maple and old oak leafing in the Little Cloister; intern Jeremy and Br. Ben moving all the geraniums to their summer post on the porches under the guidance of our formator Br. Josép (3 pictures): Br. José continuing his good care of the newly placed geraniums.

The gardens are offering an abundance of blooms by now. Tulips and dogwoods are particularly showy. Br. Francis witnessed a bee swarm this week but let them go find a new home in the wild. We think the swarm came from our biggest bee colony. Our four hives are doing well.

Blooms and grooms. From top left, clockwise: a spray of pink dogwood gracing the chancel: the St Luke Darien, CT men's group has been visiting for over 30 years (pictured with Br. Robert Leo who led their retreat); garden tulips in the church (2 pictures).

Br. Bernard's retreat at Mercy by the Sea Retreat and Conference Center. From top left clockwise: the beach so close you can hear the waves; prayes in beach stones (2 pictures); sea shell and daffodils; the Blessed Mother with a teenage Jesus on the grounds.

Eatertide blessings to you.
