Entering Pentecost

On Thursday, we prayed for our Brother Bede on the 49th anniversary of his Life Profession as a monk.

Brother Bede on Pentecost Day. From top left, clockwise: on the enclosure porch, enjoying the view; with Stephanie Owen (Br. Aidan's mom) and Br. Josép's photo-bombing; a close-up on the porch.

We continue to enjoy seeing  our "regulars" returning little by little to our public worship. It is such a joy to see people in person again and to be able to share a hug with those who are vaccinated.

I continue to attempt to walk 10,000 steps a day. These days, I try to go to the John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary before matins or between matins and mass, before it gets warmer than I like to walk in.

From time to time, I help Br. Bob to pick up trash along the one mile of Route 9 W which we have "adopted." We commit to clean-up the sides of the road from trash a few times a year. Br. Bob is actually out there even more often than that.

Adopt-a-highway and waterlilies. From left, clockwise: the plaque indicating the beginning of the mile of Route 9W we clean up (2 pictures); waterlillies at the pond in John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary (2 pictures).

We continue to enjoy the profusion of blooms in our gardens and in the church where Br. Robert James arranges them so beautifully.

Lots of irises and a few peonies, all from our gardens.

May you keep safe. Get vaccinated if you can; it saves lives.
