The end of summer

This past week, Br. Robert James, our Superior, was at a meeting of Superiors of CAROA (Conference of Anglican Religious Orders in America) at the convent of the Community of St John the Baptist, is Mendham, NJ.

On Thursday, Br. Ephrem departed for a family visit in Louisiana, and Br. Aidan departed to attend a friend's wedding in Manchester, UK. Br. Aidan then starts walking St Cuthbert's way between Melrose, in the Scottish Borders and Lindisfarne, in England's Northumberland.

Last Monday, our new intern Chris Renshaw, from Austin, TX, got a welcome committee waiting for him in the garden near the Guesthouse. Br. Anthony, postulant Ben and intern Robb enjoyed the pleasant weather while waiting for Chris' arrival. Chris first first visited the monastery while he studied at Princeton Seminary. He will be with us for about 9 months.

Since he has relocated to the monastery from Toronto, every day, Br. David Bryan sets out tea for the community at 4 p.m. in the enclosure. It has become a popular get-together.

Some trees are already starting to change color. Fall is with us. It's a beautiful season here.
