The e-mail subscription field is fixed!

First of all, some logistics. We have fixed our e-mail subscription field. Now it works! What a concept.
As pictured below, you can find it in the upper right corner of the blog. If you subscribe, you will get an e-mail as soon as I publish an entry. This is usually one or two days before we feature the blog on our Facebook page (in order not to compete for traffic with our Sunday sermon).
Get your HCM news fix before the crowds ;-).
Our Argentinian missionary friends Fernando, Monica and Heidi went with Br. Robert James and I on our early Monday brisk walk on the Walkway Over the Hudson. Fr. Fernando Ortiz stayed with us for a whole week of retreat.
It has been a quiet week with lots of individual retreatants enjoying the clement weather. On Thursday afternoon, the Guest Master's Tea was so well attended that we are considering moving it from the St Scholastica room to the Pilgrim Hall.
From top left, clockwise: Monica Vega from Jujuy, Argentina with Br. Robert James enjoying a moment of rest after walking the Walkway Over the Hudson; zinnias from our garden gracing the St Augustine icon in the church entrance; Br. Bede enjoying a post-prandial contemplative moment on the Little Cloister; meanwhile, Br. Bob is wheeling Br. Richard back after dinner in the refectory through the ambulatory behind our church to return to his cell in the enclosure.
This Friday, Ken and Leone Litt from Astoria, New York, came for their traditional summer visit with their twin sons Frederick and Samuel (age 6). They stop by at the monastery on their way home from a family summer camp vacation upstate. This time we finished their visit by giving a peek at the Monk's Cell book and gift store where Mom read a story.
From top left, clockwise: Brothers Aidan, Robert Leo and Josép prepare in the temporary sacristy in our Consrevatory, for the Sunday mass (Br. Josép preached. Check it our on our Sermons Blog); Leone Litt reads a story to her two sons.
Happy Labor Day! We plan to have a cookout if the weather will let us.
