Gardening

This week, Br. Robert James continues to be away on his family visit. He isn't far; he stays at the renovated St Mary's House at the top of our driveway with his nephew John's family.

Br. Scott left to go back to Saint Benedict's Priory in Hermanus, South Africa. It was good to have him with us for a couple of weeks.

This end of week, Samuel was visiting friends in North Carolina for their wedding. Br. Josép was taking loving care of Summer, Samuel's golden lab.

As part of their formation to the monastic life, postulants and novices are assigned a good deal of manual labor. One of the ways this takes form is that each of them has "adopted" a part of the gardens that he takes care of. The weather was conducive to gardening this past week; sunny and not too hot.

This week, Br. Francis got a delivery of our latest t-shirts (navy blue with the angel weathervane on a roman arch background). You can get yours on our Etsy storefront, while supplies last...

Keeping the gardens beautiful. From top left, clockwise: Br. Marc transplanting hostas in the garden triangle in his care; Br. Marc taking a break to catch up with postulant Anthony; Br. Marc back to work; Br. Josép proudly posing with our two postulants, Jeffrey and Anthony in the sacristy; Br. Bernard modeling the latest West Park fashion for the Monk's Cell book and gift store in the little cloister.

We hope you get to enjoy the outdoors too. Peace!
