All Saints and All Souls

This week, Br. Carl was taking an "at home" retreat (more silence and solitude in one's own place). Br. Randy took the last week's retreat of his spread-out sabbatical. Br. Bernard visited Yale Divinity Seminary for an overnight stay to offer spiritual direction to students.

Br. Bernard was also visiting his close friend Lewis who was in hospice in NYC a couple of times. He was able to be at his bedside for a few hours just before Lewis died on Friday evening. It is a blessing that our community honors close friendships and family connections.

We celebrated the feast of All Saints on Wednesday and observed All Souls on Thursday.

On Saturday, we were happy to receive as our newest Associate a frequent visitor for several decades. Elizabeth Rundquist, of Teaneck, NJ, was received by "Director of Associates emeritus," Br. Josép.

On Saturday, Br. Aidan was the "guest brother" on the Associates' quarterly online Fireside Chat. About fourty Associates were in attendance and enjoyed catching up on all the people and facilities happenings of the last quarter.
