Autumn colors peak?

This week, Br. Robert James, our Superior, and Br. Aidan, the Order's Bursar, were working with the Brothers at Holy Cross Priory, Toronto, to prepare for the closing of the priory in the first half of next year. Tough but necessary work. They were all in our prayers.

Br. Ephrem is on retreat the Monastery of Bethlehem, in Livingston Manor.

We had two parish groups visiting this week and several self-directed retreatants. There was a group from St Bartholomew, Cherry Hill, NY and another from Grace Church, Millbrook, NY.

Monastery people. From top, clockwise: long-time visitors, Colleen and David Spaeth, from Cherry Hill, NJ (2 pictures); Br. Bernard with Grace Church, Millbrook, group (Ben York, the Rev. Alison Quin, Laura Pelosi, the Rev. Matt Calkins and Lucas Pelosi); Br. Ephrem and the Rev. Ryan Fleenor (Br. Ephrem taught at Ryan's parish, St Luke's Darien, CT, a week ago); Bros. Josép and Randy chatting in the coffee corner; Bros. Edwin and Bernard playing chess in St Scholasitca (Edwin won, for the record).

Have autumn colors reached their peak? That's certainly what the passengers on the small cruise boats that sail the Hudson these days hope for. In any case, it's beautiful out here.
